Florida Apostille Services
Florida documents intended for use abroad may require an apostille or notarial certification before they can be accepted by a foreign authority.
The Florida Secretary of State is the state’s designated competent authority, with apostille and authentication requests handled through the Division of Corporations.
Global Apostille Group can review your Florida document, determine the appropriate authentication route, and coordinate processing through completion.
Request a QuoteWhat Kind of Florida Document Do You Have?
Florida's preparation requirements vary considerably by document type. Identifying the issuing authority and signature on the record is one of the first steps in determining the correct process.
Vital & Court Records
Florida birth certificates, death certificates, marriage records, divorce records, and court documents generally require an eligible certified copy bearing a qualifying official signature.
Notarized Documents
Powers of attorney, affidavits, authorizations, statements, and similar private documents may qualify when properly notarized by a Florida notary public.
Educational Records
Florida school transcripts and other educational documents can require different preparation depending on whether the institution is public or private.
Business & State Records
Florida certified corporate filings, Certificates of Status, vehicle titles, criminal background checks, and other state-issued records may also qualify for authentication.
Preparing a Florida Document for Authentication
Florida requires the document and underlying signature to meet specific authentication standards. We review the record type, certification, and notarization before submission.
Submit the Qualifying Document
Public records generally require an original certified copy or other qualifying official record. An ordinary photocopy is not accepted for apostille processing.
Use an Eligible Florida Signature
The document must bear the signature of an official or Florida notary whose authority can be verified by the Department of State.
Complete the Full Notarial Statement
Florida-notarized documents must contain a complete notarial certificate together with the original notary signature, stamp, and seal.
Confirm the Destination Country
The country where the document will be used determines whether Florida issues an apostille under the Hague Convention or a notarial certification for a non-Hague destination.
Florida requires notarized documents submitted for authentication to contain a full notarial statement. The original notary signature, stamp, and seal must also be present on the submitted document.
