Naturalization Record
Naturalization Records are issued by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), or for historical naturalization records, they lie with National Archives.
The apostille is issued by the US Department of State. The record must be physically mailed to them once the record has been obtained. For some historical records issued by the New York Historical Archives, they can be handled directly with the New York Department of State.
Apostille Requirements for a Naturalization Record
We always recommend that you obtain a certified copy of your naturalization record prior to proceeding with the apostille process. The apostille process creates a perforation and permanently adheres the apostille to your naturalization document with a ring.
The document must be signed and have a raised seal present on the document. For newer documents, signatures may be electronic or stamped.
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements will result in a rejected application from the US Department of State.
